Targeted Teaching Methods
I take pride in reaching my students on
their specific level. Supporting and
assisting students to achieve and excel in
their endeavors is my most important goal in
teaching. I have achieved that goal in my
endeavors over the last six years.
English in the Armed Forces - the flexible
way
The understanding of both the academic and
the military environment is a key component
in my instructional and teaching programs.
I firmly believe that it is a necessary for
English speaking units within any Armed
Force to be
able to communicate by ear, mouth and hand
i.e. listen/speak/read/write.
It is very important for a teacher to
establish an environment that is both
flexible to accommodate student backgrounds
and abilities, and to be sympatric to their
individual developmental needs.
Targeted Teaching Methods
I take pride in reaching each of my students
at
their specific level. Supporting and lifting them
further is of the utmost importance in
my teaching.
I use targeted teaching methods to do this.
The Targeted Teaching Methods(TTM)-technique
is actually quite simple:
1: listen/talk to each student
2: analyze the student's specific phonetical
and grammatical level
3: find which way to teach the person most
efficiently
4: teach from the needed level
5: respect the student's specific learning
style
Summarizing the Five Points into a program
When I use these five points it is possible
to create a teaching program which is
utilized in my teaching. Doing this I am
able to provide teaching that is tailored to
the needs of each student, with a compressed
curriculum in a relatively short span of
time.
